It's kinda annoying because I can't play a single game for more than 10-30 minutes without now at this point a box should pop up with a check box. mlcarson View Public Profile Find all posts by mlcarson (#13) jskyg Master Guru Videocard: powercolor [email protected]/1125 Processor: [email protected] air Mainboard: ASUS P5Q pro turbo Memory: Gskill DDR2 800 some of u are unlucky enough to have this happen during gaming which i fortunately have not experienced yet. have a peek at this web-site
I'll swap the cable just in case something happened to it but I doubt this is the problem either. Awaiting for a proper patch either from Blizzard or nVidia. I guess that overheating could cause the video card to fail; not sure. Quote: Originally Posted by Omagana It's known a windows issue, happens to both ATI and Nvidia cards. find more info
and with drivers installed (cat 10.3) the card can pass any 3D stress testing with no errors/artifact etc. Then i swapped back to borderless and now it doesn't crash as much. That's like saying running is broken because you are sweating. That would rule out the mainboard, CPU, and memory. Problem still exists after replacing the Displaylink cable.

I fixed it by just reinstalling the OS. I reloaded windows 7 professional which is what I'm using and same problem persists. Harassment is not tolerated. https://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/59666-hd5850-display-driver-stopped-responding.html the dungeons in Act 1.
When I play D3 I go into CCC and enable my underclock settings and when I'm done I turn them off since this problem only happens in D3. There is also another similar crash that makes my screens go black for much longer (1-2 minutes). select display adapters from the right hand pane. I have a problem with my ATI card that I just can't how to fix.

The chips seem to be good a pair at a time but not in a configuration of 2 pairs. It looks like it has more to do with the ram than with the graphic card setup... The complication tho is that I am not sure if I have Catalyst 12.3 or 12.4. I think it used to happen on my old radeon 4890 card as well but with my 7950, the screen just goes black and eventually crashes without saying the display driver

You also probably have lots of "watchdog" dumps - C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG - but they all will list your video drivers as the cause and therefore are not really any use to us. I'm running an EVGA 980 and still having this problem. My RAM is rated at 1.65v, but the XMP profile (automatic-set configuration) set it to 1.5v.
I tried for hours all the different fixes I read about this. Memtest86+ was having issues when all 4 chips were present and set at 1066 but ran fine at 800. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem and thanks for your help everyone.
